In her sorrowful twilight years, a decade after her husband’s death and having devoted her life to his flourishing theatrical career, Ada Hamershlag prepares a tribute event in his memory, hoping to finally claim the spotlight. Financial troubles jeopardize the event, forcing Ada to accept the help of Rachel Bloch, an aging diva, Israel Prize laureate, and her late husband’s unacknowledged lover. As Ada clings to her late husband’s ailing cat, refusing to let go, the two women engage in a bitter, sarcastic battle for love and recognition, unearthing buried secrets of infidelity, illness, and addiction.
